Where would the world be without idealists- people who see beyond the rules, policies and general rountines of existence that only societies can proclaim? Picture a mindless, colorless world without wonder  or pleasure and that should about cover it.

The thought occured to e after having heard for the umpteenth time someone say, "Stop being so idealistic!" and I began to wonder why so many people have an aversion to idealism. Personally, whether I was a designer (rookie) or not I would have an hopeless romantic or business with my head, persistently, up in the clouds but as a designer it seems almost a prerequisite.

Yes, pragmatism is also a positive characteristic as life cannot always be about dreams and hopes but there does seem to be a kind of general aversion to romanticism. An example of this was a time when I called in a TV talk show that was discussing the pros and cons of trading players off of our local football team. I was a middle school student then but they called in and expressed that they didn't like that fact that their players represented our nation based merely on a pay cheque. I would like to see players stay because they our nation and wanted to play for everyone rather than leave as soon as more money was offered. The host told them that they being too idealistic and cut them off  for another call. That situation with me because to this day I don't understand why my views on the subject were worth dismissing.

The point I'm getting at is that I see the same things happening now in multi-media design. People are overly pragmatic, if not pessimistic, about the value in dot-coms and what can be done about it. We have barely got a handle on this new region of advertising and business and already the media is happily reporting death of the dot-com! What's worse is that people are buying into all this negative press. Is it so difficult to tear our attention away from all this bad news? I wonder why more people haven't realized that we're still only on the verge of what the World Wider Web has to offer.

Just as big business was last to hop on the Net, now it is the first to jump ship. To think that many of them never stayed long enough to even figure out what the hell they were doing in the first place. Suddenly the aftermath of their gate crashing has left those of us still here scratching our heads and wondering what just happened.

Personally, I believe that remaining idealistic about the future of the Net and the place that designers will hold within it is exactly what more people need to do. Computers did not catch on over night. It was a slow sell for many businesses, especially designers. Now every designer and businesspersion has one or more computers in their possession and new related technology is rolling in. The Net is no different and idealism is what is going to power it. The people with high ambitions and even bigger dreams are going to shape this place up to be something substantial and long lived. Something as broad as the Internet cannot be blamed for so much failure, what has caused this breakdown is greed and cynicism.
More power to the little business that is run by people with big dreams and strong visions. Big business outside of the Web was developed through hard work and idealism and that same plan should also be used for the Net.

So the next time someone tells you that you are too idealistic, tell them "you're welcome".

Update on the March 11 Earthquake and Tsunami

The Japanese archipelago is located in an area where several continental and oceanic plates meet. This is the cause of frequent earthquakes and the presence of many volcanoes and hot springs across Japan. If earthquakes occur below or close to the ocean, they may trigger tidal waves (tsunami).

Historic earthquakes:-
Many parts of the country have experienced devastating earthquakes and tidal waves in the past. The Great Kanto Earthquake, the worst in Japanese History, hit the Kanto plain around Tokyo in 1923 and resulted in the deaths of over 100,000 people.

 Earthquake on 2011

In January 1995 a strong earthquake hit the city of Kobe and surroundings. Known as the Southern Hyogo Earthquake or Great Hanshin Earthquake, it killed 6,000 and injured 415,000 people. 100,000 homes were completely destroyed and 185,000 were severely damaged.

Earthquake measurement:-

Richter Scale
The Japanese "shindo" scale for measuring earthquake is more commonly used in Japan than the Richter scale to describe earthquakes. Shindo refers to the intensity of an earthquake at a given location , i.e. what people actually feel  at a given location, while the Richter scale measures the magnitude of an earthquake, i.e. the energy an earthquake releases at the epicenter

Shindo scale
The shindo scale ranges from shindo one, a slight earthquake felt only by people who are not moving, to shindo seven, a severe earthquake. Shindo two to four are still minor earthquakes that do not cause damage, while object start to fall at shindo five, and heavier damage occurs at shindo six and seven.

Preparedness:-
Preparedness for Tsunami

Every household should keep a survival kit with a flashlight, a radio, a first aid kit and enough food and water to last for a few days. Avoid placing heavy objects in places where they could easily fall during an earthquake and cause injury or block exits. Have a fire extinguisher. Familiarize yourself with the designated evacuation area in your neighborhood.

During and after an earthquake:-
Falling object, toppling furniture and panic present the greatest dangers during an earthquake. Try to protect yourself under a table or doorway. Do not run outside, and try to remain as calm as possible. If you are in the streets, try to find protection from glass and other objects that may fall from surrounding buildings.

After a strong earthquake, turn off ovens, stoves, and the main gas valve. Then listen to the radio or television for news. In coastal areas beware of possible tidal waves (tsunami) while in mountainous areas beware of possible land slides.

Initial D Arcade Stage 6 AA has been released in March 2011.

New mode introduced, Tag Battle. Team up with another player in the same store to challenge against another pair of players across the online network. Scattered around the track will be Ace panels containing gold and silver. Hit those to get a score. The team that gets the higher combined score at the end wins the battle.

Mr Arai Kenzi presented the game on the main stage. He said: Until this version players battled head on. This time battles can take place as a pair. Based on the Takumi downhill / Takahashi uphill framework, this time game resembles the original (manga) series. Team up with your friends and battle others! Aim to form a formidable team! Now not only the fast will win. Team work is vital in Tag battle mode.

In the demo course Usui, 8 times the panel will appear. 2 point's for gold and 1 point for silver. If the team takes the same Ace bonus will be given. The gold Ace will be placed in dangerous areas for eg close to wall in corners or the outside line. In a moment your team-mate playing next to you might say: I am sorry! Take the silver please!" as a part of team strategy. In addition, the points given will be doubled for the last section of the course. If you double gold Ace the points scored will be 6 x 2 = 12. In this scenario there is a chance of reversing the result of the battle even if your team is trailing by less than 12 points in the 1st three sections.

There will be a total of 10 courses including two brand new courses. Three new cars are added: "FAIRLADY Z Version S" , "LANCER Evolution X GSR" and "NSX" bringing the total number of cars to 34. Online network is extended to support regions in which earlier version of the game was known to be popular in, finally achieving both national wide and international matches. Additionally, you can enjoy in-store Tag Battle if the arcade outlet has at least 4 machines. IC card design becomes a licence type, the will start operation in this 2011.

Scores of gusses fill the blogisphere about what Apple's next iPhone will offer. they've already heard one new rumor saying goodbye to the home button and they could see that happening. What they do not see coming to the half-decade mark from Cupertino's finest is anything mind blowing.

Nope, not this year.

Now that the number one complaint about the iPhone has been dealt with - poor service via AT&T - They think the second issue is on the list for attack: battery life. They've see what Apple did with the iPad and it's amazing power life, but sadly, the iPhone doesn't have that kind of real estate as the "over-sized iPod Touch".

Lots of talk has been bubbling about battery technology with Apple's name attached, and I'm fairly certain that Steve Jobs has this issue high on his priority list of getting fixed. They've seen amazing leaps in battery life across the entire spectrum of mobile gadgetry, from the impressive Li-Ion battery cells onboard Apple's laptops to other devices such as Amazon's Kindle.

It's now time for the iPhone to follow suit.

Now don't worry, they won't just be wooed by better battery life - there will be more under the hood, too. You'll also see a "world phone" where both GSM and CDMA will be supported. Apple doesn't want to manufacture two different phones, and this is why it waited so long on bringing the Verizon iPhone. Apple had to answer the Android onslaught now and thus, temporarily, we have two iPhones.

But come july, there will only be one.

LTE you ask? Remember, one phone and AT&T hasn't even taken off the anti-static bags from it's LTE radios yet. LTE will come next year...when a multi-band GSM, CDMA, LTE chip is create...and priced lower than today's LTE chips.

Let's see, what else can we hope for? Mmm, an antenna adjustment to relieve that death grip issue as already seen in the Verizon version (don't fall for Apple's marketing spin about CDMA requiring the change.) That loss of the Home button sounds about right. Oh ya, some more memory, like 64GB on the high end. Probably a better speaker, too. Oh yes, for the third time, non-smudge glass that maybe might not absorb finger prints as easily as the last four phones. Speaking of glass, the iPhone 5 will resist cracks better than the 4. Maybe bluetooth 3 - though Apple doesn't seem to really show any affection for it.

So, that's what they see in the iPhone 5. Better battery life, world phone, more memory, less smudges, no death grip, louder speaker, and possibly cutting edge Bluetooth. You know, the more they think about it, scratch the Bluetooth 3.0 support. Well get that next time.

WHAT MAKES YOUR BIG MAC SO UNIQUE?
Maybe it's how the double layer of sear-sizzled 100% beef mingles with the sauce and melting cheese, the dice onion, crisp shredded iceberg lettuce and the crunch of the pickle. Or, maybe it's just that it's tall.

NUTRITIONAL VALUES :
In the United States, the Big Mac has 540 kcal (2,340 kJ), 29 grams of fat and 25 grams of protein. In Australia the burger is smaller with 480 kcal (2,010 kJ) and 24.9 grams of fat, but similar amounts of protein with 25.3 grams, while the Mexican burger tops out the scales at 600 kcal and 33 grams of fat.

There's more to it. And even less of it.
Two cameras for FaceTime and HD video recording. The dual - core A5 chip. The
same 10 - hour battery life. All in a thinner, lighter design. Now iPad is even more
amazing. And even less like anything else.

Thinner, lighther, and full of great ideas.
Once you pick up iPad 2, it'll be hard to put down. That's the idea behind the all - new design. It's 33 percent thinner and up to 15 percent lighter, so it feels even more comfortable in your hands. And it makes surfing the web, checking email, watching movie, and reading books so natural, you might forget there's incredible technology under your fingers.

Dual - core A5 chip. It's fast, times two.
Two powerful cores in one A5 chip mean iPad can do twicce the work at once. You'll notice the difference when you're surfing the web, watching movies, making FaceTime video calls, gaming, and going from app to app to app. Multitasking is smoother, apps load faster, and everything just works better.

Superfast graphic.Go, gamers, go.
With up to nine times the graphics perfomance, gameplay on iPad is even smoother and more realistic. And faster graphic help apps perform better - especially those with video. You'll see it when you're scrolling through your photo library, editing video with iMovie, and viewing animation in Keynote.

Battery life keeps on going. So you can, too.
Even with the new thinner and lighter design, iPad has the same amazing 10 - hour battery life. That's enough juice for one flight across the ocean, or one movie - watching all - nighter, or a week's commute across town. The power - efficient A5 chip and iOS keep battery life from fading away, so you get carried away.

Two cameras. And a big hello to FaceTime for iPad.

You'll see two cameras on iPad - one on the front and one on the back. They may be tiny, but they're a big deal. They're designed for FaceTime video calling, and they work together so you can talk to your favorite people and see them smile and laugh back at you. The front camera puts you and your friend face - to - face. Switch to the back camera during video call to share where you are, who you're with, or what's going on aroung you. When you're not using FaceTime, let the back camera roll if you see something movie - worthy. It's HD, so whatever you shoot is a mini - masterpiece. And you can take wacky snapshots in Photo Booth. It's the most fun a face can have.

What is obesity?
Being obese means having so much body fat that your health is in danger. Having too much body fat can lead to type 2 diabetes, heat disease, high blood pressure, arthritis, sleep apnea, and stroke.

Because of these risks, it is important to lose weight even if you do not feel bad now. It is hard to change eating habits and exercise habits. But you can do it if you make a plan.

How do you know if you are obese?
You can use a measurement called a body mass index, or BMI, to decide whether your weight is dangerous to your health. The BMI is a combination of your height and weight. If you have a BMI of 30 or higher, your extra weight is putting your health in danger. If you are Asian, your health may be at risk with a BMI of 27.5 or higher.

Use Interactive Tool: Weight and Health Risks to check your body mass index

Where you carry your body fat may be as important as how many extra pounds you have. People who carry too much fat around the middle, rather than around the hips, are more likely to have health problems. In women, a waist size of 35in, or more raises the chance for disease. In men, a waist size of 40in, or more raises the chance for disease. In Asian people, health problems are seen with a smaller waist size. In Asian women, a waist size of 32in, or more raises the chance for disease. In Asian men, a waist size of 36in, or more raises the chance for disease.

What causes obesity?
When you take in more calories than you burn off, you gain weight. How you eat, how active you are, and other things affect how your body uses calories and whether you gain weight.

If your family members are obese, you may have inherited a tendency to gain weight. And your family also helps form your eating and lifestyle habits, which can lead to obesity.

Also, our busy lives make it harder to plan and cook healthy meals. For many of us, it's easier to reach for prepared foods, go out to eat, or go to the drive-through like mcdonald. But these foods are ofthen high in fat and calories. Portions are often too large. Work schedules, long commutes, and other commitment also cut into the time we have for physical activity.

There is no quick fix to being overweight. To lose weight, you must burn more calories than you take in.

You've tried diets, but you always gain the weight back. What can you do?
Focus on health, not diets. Diets are hard to stay on and usually do not work in the long run. It is very hard to stay with diet that includes lots of big changes in you eating habits.

Instead of a diet, focus on lifestyle change that will improve your health and achieve the right balance of energy and calories. To lose weight, you need to burn more calories than you take in. You can do it by eating healthy foods in reasonable amounts and becoming more active. And you need to do it every day.

Little steps mean a lot. Losing just 10lb can make a different in your health.

Make a plan for change. Work with your doctor to create a plan that will work for you. Ask family members and friends for help in keeping with your plan. Ask your doctor to recommend a dietitian to help you with meal planning.

When you stray from your plan, do not get upset. Figure out what got you off track and how you can fix it.

How can you stay on your plan for change?
It is hard to change habits. You have to be ready. Make sure this is the right time for you. Are you ready to make a plan and stay on it? Do you have the support of your family and friends? Do you know what your first steps will be? Becoming healthier and staying that way is a lifelong effort.

Most people have more success when they make small changes, one step at a time. For example, you might eat an extra piece of fruit, walk 10 minutes more, or add more vegetables to your meals.

Studies show that people who keep track of what they eat are better at losing weight. Keep notebook where you can write down everything you eat and drink each day. You may be suprised to see how much you are eating to see how much you eating. Use a calorie counter to add up your calories. (you can find calorie counters online and at bookstores.)

As you keep track of calories, look at whether you skip meals, when you eat, how often you eat out, and how many fruits and vegetables you eat. This will help you see patterns that you may want to change.

You may want to write down the amount of physical activity you've had each day and compare the calories you burned to those you took in.Use the Interactive Tool Calories Burned to see how many calories you burn through daily activities.

Can you take medicines or have surgery?
Surgery and medicines do not work by themselves. Most people also need to make changes in what they eat and how active they are.

Before your doctor will prescribe medicines or surgery, he or she will not probably want you to work on diet and activity for at least 6 month. Even if your doctor gives you medicines or recommends surgery, you will need to keep your new healthy habits for the rest of your life.

That's All (^_^)

Raised together, the two were like brothers. Once the two were of the ideal age, Gorgom captured them and infused them each with a King Stone. Though he appears to die after being left inside the Gorgom headquarters when it explodes, Shadow Moon returns years later to seek revenge against Kotaro, who is now Black RX. However, he lost all of his memories related to Gorgom after its destruction. Kamen Rider : The Next

Two years after the events of Kamen Rider the First, a strange series of bizarre murders occur with the victims mutilated in a most gruesome fashion while pop star Chiharu's "Platinum Smile" is being played, becoming an urban legend. Meanwhile, Takeshi Hongo has become a high school science teacher with a troublesome class with one student catching his attention; a troubled girl named Kotomi Kikuma who was best friends with Chiharu and is worried about her. By the time Hongo and her find a dying "Chiharu", they learn she's actually an imposter as the Shocker Inhumanoid Chainsaw Lizard arrives with the six Shocker Riders to carry out the task of executing Hongo, forcing him to reveal himself in as Kamen Rider Ichigo (1) to Kotomi before escaping his hunters. At around the same time, Hayato Ichimonji is shown still alive but slowly weakening due to his body's rejection of the cybernetic changes which made him Kamen Rider Nigo.

The next day, after saving Kotomi from some punks by exposing his physical ability, Hongo accepts Kotomi's offer to help in finding Chiharu by finding her older brother Shiro Kazami, who is the former president of the rising IT enterprise ExaStream, which is tied to the mysterious disappearance of its staff two months prior. Making their way to his holiday home to meet Kazami, Hongo and Kotomi soon learn that he is in league with Shocker as Chainsaw Lizard and the Shocker Riders battle Kamen Rider Ichigo on as Kazami joins the fray as a Shocker Inhumanoid code-named "V3". After chasing down Rider #1 in a high speed chase across the countryside, V3 and the Shocker Riders take down Rider #1 until Kamen Rider Nigo re-appears to cover Rider #1's escape. But after realizing his "sister" was another imposter, Kazami reveals the incident at ExaStream was a Shocker experiment of Nanobots designed to convert all humans in Japan into cyborgs, with him being a survivor of the experiment. The three riders later learn that Kotomi found the other girl, revealing the gruesome fate the real Chiharu suffered as she and her predecessor were involved, horrifying Kazami as Kotomi is telepathically shown the truth of the real Chiharu's final moments as "Chiharu" runs off and eventually is brutally murdered with the manager and the record dealer who were covering up her death as Kotomi uses Platinum Smile to communicate with Chiharu, learning that she's still alive as the "ghost" took its leave.

After Kazami reveals to Hongo that Shocker's foreign branch brought a shipment of nanobots to spread them across the nation, Rider #1 arrives to intercept the convoy while battling Scissors Jaguar, the mastermind behind the Nanobot Operation, with Rider #2 arriving to back him up as the battle brings to the Legend of Gathering in an all out fight for the nanobots. Though the Double Riders were overwhelmed, the tables are turned as V3 arrives to support them. While the Double Riders kill Scissors Jaguar, V3 manages to destroy Chainsaw Lizard and the nanobots before coming face to face with Chiharu, horrifically mutated by the nanobots into a monster as she pleas her brother to put her out of her misery. Though reluctant to do it, Kazami executes the V3 Punch to honor his sister's wish to die rather than live as a monster in agonizing pain. After the Triple Riders escape the burning restaurant, Ichimonji takes his leave to spend his final moments in bliss at a Ginza bar he regulars, while Kazami decides to start a new life for himself. As for Hongo, he is forced to quit his job after a few complaints made for his earlier stunt as Kotomi decides to walk him home. The Platinum Smile incidents seemingly end as the credits roll.

Later, a post-credits scene suggests that, even though Chiharu was finally at peace, the "curse of Platinum Smile" was still in effect.
